There's something about having a pair of LEKI trekking poles in your hands that gives you a feeling of security, balance and confidence. Independent gear testers have declared that once they got used to using LEKI poles on their adventures, hiking without them was not an option.

This past July I ran the Death Valley (Badwater) 135 mile ultra marathon where tempertures reached 125 degrees. I fund raised for The Way to Happiness Foundation Youth and Character building programs which helps our youth avoid getting involved with drugs, gangs and crime and those who are involved we help them get out of those traps. We have running teams and outdoor programs. I continued my adventure by running the 211 mile John Muir Trail into Yosemite National Park. Leki Makalu Poles were with me every mile. With snow packs and streams crossings heaviest in years, Leki Makalu Poles gave me the confidence and support I needed on the steep snowy mountain passes and deep fast moving streams along the JMT. Leki poles never failed me and they were put to the test on this adventure! By far the best poles anywhere! Having completed the run across Death Valley and JMT, I became one of the first two documented runners to do this adventure. I recommend Leki Poles to any hiker, runner, backpacker and walker. Leki Poles are made to last and the best product out there. Thank you Leki for helping me with my fund raising advent. Keep up the great work! John R Monrovia, CA - John Radich
LEKI USA partnered with American Hiking Society (AHS) and American Park Network to create Hiking 101 clinics designed to teach people the basics of outdoor adventure with an emphasis on the benefits of using poles.
Participants were part of interactive "how to" lessons starting with hiking essentials - Leave No Trace Principles, preparation and gear.
At the end of the workshops, LEKI and American Park Network donated all the poles used during the clinics to the American Hiking Society.
