Densmore Climbs More

LEKI athlete/writer/photo journalist/ski instructor (whew!) Lisa Densmore completed 42 hikes in the Adirondacks this past summer while working on her next guidebooks, Hiking the Adirondacks and Best Easy Day Hikes: Adirondacks, both from FalconGuides (due out in spring 2010).

Densmore posed long enough for a photo on New York’s Mount Marcy with her niece, Hannah Feinberg, 13, and son Parker, 11. “It was a proud accomplishment for both of them,” she tells us. “I came back with over 5,000 images and some of my most memorable experiences in the backcountry. I grew up in Saranac Lake, hiking in the High Peaks region. I thought I knew the Adirondacks, but there's so much more than just the 4,000-footers. The more I explored the more I realized I hadn't seen.”
