WHY ARE POLES IMPORTANT FOR NORDIC WALKING?
Nordic walking is up to 50% more effective than walking without poles. In addition to the leg and buttock muscles, the use of the poles also trains the arm, shoulder and back muscles. In addition, Nordic walking poles ensure that the upper body remains stable during training and that no spine curvature develops.
CARBON OR ALUMINIUM?
Carbon poles are extremely light and robust at the same time. Ski poles made of aluminium are even more robust, but they bend a little faster and are also heavier. There are also ski poles with a material blend of carbon and aluminium.
WHICH GRIP SYSTEM IS THE RIGHT ONE?
Our shark system is a specially developed grip-loop system that allows you to easily click in and out of the pole. It gives you precise guidance and optimal operability. In addition, the direct connection between hand and pole ensures optimal power transmission.
WHAT IS THE SMART TIP?
The smart tip is a LEKI innovation that gives you optimum grip on almost any terrain. The non-slip pad provides the necessary grip for the poles on asphalt paths. The integrated and extendable carbide tip grips even on meadows, mud and snow. The change between rubber pad and tip works tool-free with only one grip.
HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT POLE LENGTH?
A rule of thumb says that the pole is the right length when it is placed vertically on the ground and your upper and lower arm form a 90° angle. If you are still unsure or would like to have the length calculated exactly, we also have a pole length advisor on our website. Simply enter your height and select the type of sport and you will find out the optimum length.
