WHAT MAKES A GOOD SKI GLOVE?

A ski glove should fit snugly to retain warmth but not so tightly that it restricts blood circulation. The ideal glove ensures that your hands stay neither cold nor overheated, nor do they sweat excessively after a long day of skiing. Important factors include fit, warmth level, water resistance, breathability, and dexterity. A good ski glove is breathable yet waterproof, comfortable and lightweight, yet robust and durable.

MITTENS OR FINGER GLOVES?

Mittens are generally warmer than finger gloves, making them ideal for those who get cold fingers quickly. They keep your hands reliably warm and dry, but they do slightly restrict your ability to grip and perform fine motor tasks. Finger gloves, on the other hand, offer more freedom of movement for your fingers but tend to cool down a bit faster.

HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT GLOVE SIZE?

Here's a step-by-step guide to finding your glove size. A glove fits well when there's a bit of air between the material and your skin. Gloves that are too tight won't insulate well, while gloves that are too loose won't give you the feeling or stability you need. Pay special attention to your thumbs and index fingers when trying on gloves. If the glove feels right around these areas and leaves a thin layer of air when you clench your hand into a fist, you've found the right fit.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SKI GLOVES?

Even if your gloves are machine washable, we recommend hand washing them to be gentler on the materials. Regularly wipe off dirt with a damp cloth. You can also gently wash them in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent. Avoid using regular laundry detergent!

To dry, lightly wring the gloves out and blot them with a clean towel. Let them air dry at room temperature. Be cautious: drying in a dryer, on a radiator, or with a hairdryer can make materials like leather stiff and brittle, and laminations can be damaged.

After cleaning, we recommend spraying the textile parts with a commercial water-repellent spray once dry. Leather parts can be conditioned with commercial leather balm. For storage, keep your gloves in a cool, dry place.

WHY LEKI SKI GLOVES?

LEKI ski gloves are made from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and resilience. Many of our ski gloves feature the Trigger System, which allows a direct connection between the gloves and the ski poles, This not only offers comfort but can also release in case of a fall to protect against injuries. We have a wide range of gloves for different needs, from racing gloves to freeride or piste gloves, so both professionals and recreational skiers can find the perfect fit.
