Accessibility

At LEKI, inclusion, equal opportunities and accessibility are at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to ensure that everyone – regardless of physical or cognitive limitations – can use our website and digital services easily, intuitively and without barriers.

We do not view accessibility as a one-off measure, but as an ongoing process in which we regularly review and improve technical, content-related and design aspects. By adhering to recognised standards (e.g. the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG) we want to ensure that our platform remains accessible to all users in the future.

For us, accessibility is more than just a legal obligation: it is an expression of our respect for and responsibility towards a diverse society. That is why we are constantly investing in improving our digital solutions and welcome feedback to help us identify existing barriers and work together to remove them.

Compliance status

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is an EU directive designed to ensure equal access to essential products and digital services. In Germany, it is implemented through the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG). The relevant technical standards are the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)which define international requirements for accessible digital content.

The website LEKI is currently partially compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.2 at Level AA. We are constantly working to identify all known barriers and remove them step by step.

Accessibility measures

To improve accessibility and the user experience, we have implemented the following measures wherever possible:

    • Simple and clear language – content is written in an easy-to-understand way, and technical terms are explained.
    • Clear structure – logical layout, consistent navigation and easy navigation on every page.
    • Easy-to-read typography – sufficiently large text, sans-serif fonts and optimised line spacing.
    • High colour contrast – Contrast levels have been adjusted so that text and controls are clearly visible even to people with impaired vision.
    • Interactive media – videos, animations and GIFs can be paused, stopped or resumed at any time.
    • Keyboard accessibility – most content and functions can be accessed via the keyboard. We are working to ensure full usability without a mouse and to gradually remove existing limitations.
    • Customisation tools – an integrated toolbar allows users to adjust settings such as font size, contrast and display to suit their personal needs.

Limitations & Feedback

Despite our best efforts, there may still be some barriers in certain areas. We are working to gradually reduce these barriers. If you encounter any barriers on our website or have any suggestions for improvement, please contact us: service@leki.de.

The competent market surveillance authority is the State Market Surveillance Agency for the Accessibility of Products and Services (MLBF).
